How to Give Agencies Access to Your Google Accounts

Sharing access to your Google accounts with a digital marketing agency is simpler than most people expect — and you retain full control at every step. This guide covers the process for all the main Google platforms your agency will need.

Google Ads

Log into your Google Ads account and find your Client ID in the top-right corner. Email that ID to your agency so they can send you an access request. You'll receive the request via email or can approve it directly within your Google Ads interface. You retain ownership of the account at all times.

Google Analytics 4

In GA4, go to Admin > Account Access Management or Property Access Management and add your agency's Google account email with the appropriate role (usually Editor or Analyst). They'll receive an invitation email to confirm access.

Google Tag Manager

In Google Tag Manager, go to the Admin tab for your container and select User Management. Add your agency's email address and assign the appropriate permissions — usually Publish if they'll be deploying tags, or Edit if they're just making changes for your approval.

Google Merchant Centre

In Google Merchant Centre, go to Settings > Account access and add your agency's email. Assign the Admin role if they'll be managing product feeds and campaigns, or Standard for more limited access.

Google Business Profile

In Google Business Profile, go to the Business Profile settings, find Managers and add your agency's Google account as a Manager. This lets them respond to reviews, update business information and manage posts on your behalf.

Google Search Console

In Search Console, go to Settings > Users and permissions and add your agency's email as either an Owner or Full User. Owner access lets them add additional users; Full User access lets them see all data and take most actions without the ability to add others.
